Unicode has no complete superscript alphabet, so the superscript generator draws from several blocks: the Superscripts and Subscripts block for digits and a few letters, plus Phonetic Extensions and Spacing Modifier Letters for the rest. Every lowercase letter, every digit and the common math signs convert. The table below shows exactly what you get.

A few notes on the gaps: uppercase C, F, S, X, Y and Z have no dedicated superscript capital, so the tool reuses the lowercase superscript form. Capital Q has no superscript at all and stays as a normal letter, while lowercase q borrows a look-alike glyph (ᑫ). Everything else — including spaces, punctuation and emoji — passes through unchanged so your message stays readable.
How to use the superscript generator
- Type or paste your text into the box at the top of this page. Mixed content is fine: “x2 + y2 = z2” becomes x² + y² = z² once you superscript only the numbers.
- Pick a style. Plain superscript is the classic tiny text look; the strikethrough and underline variants add a combining mark to every raised character.
- Click “Copy” next to the result you want. The characters are copied as plain text.
- Paste anywhere — a bio, a comment, a chat message, a spreadsheet cell, a file name or a text field that has no formatting toolbar.
Tip: to raise only part of a word, convert the exponent or footnote marker on its own and paste it after the normal text, e.g. Note followed by ¹ gives Note¹.

How do I type superscript on a phone or keyboard?
Most keyboards only offer ², ³ and a handful of symbols. The superscript generator fills the gap: type normally, copy the converted text and paste it. On a computer you can also use Alt codes (Windows) or the Character Viewer (Mac) for individual characters, but converting a whole word here is much faster.
Is superscript text a font?
No. The output is made of real Unicode characters, not a font or rich-text formatting. That's why it survives copy and paste into places that strip formatting, such as usernames, plain-text emails and chat apps.
Why does one letter look different from the others?
Unicode never defined a full superscript alphabet, so a few letters (notably q and capital Q) don't have a true superscript form. The tool uses the closest available glyph so the word stays legible instead of dropping the letter.
Will superscript characters display everywhere?
On modern phones, browsers and operating systems, yes. Fonts on very old devices occasionally miss one or two of the phonetic letters and show a box instead, but digits and math signs like ² ³ ⁺ ⁻ are supported almost universally.
Can I convert subscript or small caps too?
